About Nairobi

Nairobi is far more than a transit hub. It is one of Africa's most dynamic cities and a world-class safari destination in its own right. Nairobi National Park, just 7 km from the city centre, is the only national park on Earth where you can photograph lions with a city skyline as your backdrop. The park is home to lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, and over 400 bird species. Beyond the park, the Daphne Sheldrick Wildlife Trust nurtures orphaned elephants and rhinos, the AFEW Giraffe Centre lets you hand-feed endangered Rothschild's giraffes, and the Karen Blixen Museum honours the author of Out of Africa. Nairobi makes an exceptional one- to two-day add-on before any Kenyan safari — or a destination in its own right for travellers with limited time who want a genuine wildlife experience.
